The Wonder Years: Corolla Family Vacation

Just look at these precious children! We had the absolute pleasure of taking their family portraits this summer; while they were on their Corolla Family Vacation. I love how happy they were to be there and how well they got along with each-other.

This sweet family is currently in the middle of what many fondly refer to as “the wonder years". It's a time filled with unforgettable memories and (oh the) cuddles!

My family is also in this very same magical part of our lives. Trying to soak up every moment and memorize the way their little faces look right now, before they grow another inch. Someone once told me that being a mother is watching your children slowly say goodbye to you. But I don't believe it! Yes, it's bittersweet watching them gain independence from me. But it is so fascinating to watch the slow reveal of they are becoming. And if my kids are anything like me they won't say goodbye, they'll stick around, eating my food and gladly taking my money forever more!

Watching this family in our photo session, I knew that they will be the same way. It's clear that they are a close bunch... and I'm sure they'll stay that way.

To Audra and I there is no blessing quite as precious as the families we've been given. Our humans we go through life with who know us better than anyone else. It's such a gift to walk this earth with our favorite people by our side.

I think it's because we recognize and celebrate our families as the most important blessings, that we can go out and help other families celebrate and appreciate what they have. It feels like a life calling for us to document and recognize all the great and wonderful things for our client families. That's how we lift people up! To us it's more than a job or photography. We're living our own wonder years. On the beach, taking photos. What a wonder that we get to do a job that we love and hold so dear.
